It is an impressive building, but for me personally much more by its history rather than what you find inside. For a Catholic church, the interior is unusually bright and has also an unusual shape. Nevertheless, once you are in the inner city of Dresden, this is a must to see/visit.

I heard that the church was newly rebuilt after the war, and therefore I was so surprised how well made they have done rebuilding of the church. The exterior is of course hard to miss, and is a natural part of the square and a good example of the baroque style that dominate the view of the square. The interior... More

Its unbelievable how they could rebuild the church to its old beauty after it was destroyed. If you go up the tower, your'll get a amazing view over Dresden.

When we last visited Dresden the work on the restoration of the church was underway. What a triumph it is. It is so delicate inside with beautiful colours and soaring balconies. The baroque altar is beautifully restored from parts of the original which were saved. The trip up to the dome is wonderfully organised and the views from the top... More

This church has been lovingly re created using some bricks from the original. A British trust ( the Dresden Trust) was established, led by the Duke of Kent as its patron, and with the financial participation of both the Dresden trust and German companies, the reconstruction was completed over 60 years after the original destruction. It serves as an example... More

Incredible building. Well worth the price to go to the roof- the views are stunning. Be aware that some of the stairs to the roof are quite steep.

At the bottom line, it's a church with a historic touching history. But once up at the top, you enjoy a breathtaking 360-degrees-panorama all over Dresden! It's really worth the € 8.-. And be there just after opening, otherwise the church might be flooded by other tourists.
