Took a short ride from Luxembourg to visit Trier, a very fascinating and interesting place steeped in history. The Roman gate is like being in Rome . Take the small tourist "train " ride around the town

As far has history is concerned, this is one of my favorite spots in Europe. Not the biggest, but jsut so pretty and a great entrance to a great city.

It's hard to imagine that this building is made by the Romans. It's still intact and you can also visit the inside. Definitely worth the price.

Well preserved Roman city gate, now in the centre of the city. Impressively large, no idea how it survived two world wars & many earlier european conflicts.Worth seeing.

It is very interesting to find out that Roman empire has been present in this part of Europe... The monument is still well preserved after so many years. You can find info and souvenirs also in the small info shop right near to the monument

Slightly off-topic - but anyway; try and have a look at the Walter Trier Gallery in Ontario. For obscure reasons TA does not allow direct links in answers... I'm not sure this is the guy - but have a look. I'm not sure he's... More
