We came to pass some time with our 5-year old son. The replicas were impressive and there were some interactive displays, though we didn't go through it all. There are some remnants of the original Roman boats, so it was useful to have replicas in...More

Spent 2 hours here at part of a day visit to Mainz from Frankfurt. There is so much to like about this place: 1- There's no admission charge. There is a place to leave a donation (which we did) 2- Most the signage is in...More

The ships, the building, the exposition, the work of the technicals,... everything we loved. The better is that our children go out crying because was closing and in the street was to repeat the next day. Thanks to the staff for their patient.

A lovely setting filled with replicas and some ancient artifacts -- it isn't always clear which is which. We're interested in maritime history and this museum provides detailed information about the Roman era in Mainz. Their bilingual panels are excellent.

Free education about the Romans along the Rhine River in Mainz. Not a lot of english on the displays and the english audio was not working. But the displays were still interesting and the models were well done.
