We took the cable car up to the fortress to achieve a good view of the Rhine and surrounding area. The views were absolutely fabulous. The cable car system is so well run that there is no need to queue for deny length of time.

While we enjoyed the fortress itself, the trip up on the gondola was the real highlight. Very scenic ride in comfortable cable car.

Great way to travel to and from the fortress. Purchased two combination tickets for a total of €28. Offered great 360 degree views of the town. Clean, organized, and not crowded. Was there around 4pm until close at 530pm. FYI the ticket is only good...More

What a way to travel! Top tip - each cable car is different. Some just have seats - but some have viewing panes downwards. It's possible to buy tickets also for the castle up above. Give about 2 hours for this. Lovely and new setup....More

No you're right, I parked at the castle and with the combined ticket of the cable car you can also visit the castle which is worth while
