I just returned from a Viking trip on the Rhine River. I booked my air travel with Viking Air and the day before departure, the ship announced that they would check everyone in for their flights. They also sent around printed times for when each...More

Located at the junction of the Mosel and Rhine Rivers. This is a huge statute of Kaiser Wilhelm on a horse. The statute is a replica since the original was destroyed in WW II. The pedestal on which the statute sets is original and impressive...More

This huge statue was demolished by bombardment in WW2 and resurrected at the time of the reunification. It is magnificent in itself but more so bearing in mind its position at the convergence of 2 of Europe's greatest rivers.

ITS HUGE! we camped accross the way and it is just such a demanding statue. It has an interesting history too - shelled and destroyed by an American artillery devision in WW2 commanded by Sgt Watson who thought it might have been a Nazi base...More

Excellent place for a walk or to watch the cruise ships come and go. Nice walk along the river, and not far to the cable car. There are places for refreshments along the walk, and benches .

This significant site in German history is a worthwhile stop if in Koblenz. Nice scenery as the promenade in front of the Kaiser Wilheim II statue juts out into the confluence of the Moselle and Rhine Rivers. Good vantage point of the cable car ride...More

This is the second largest statues I've ever seen. (The largest being the Statue of Liberty in New York). On a clear day you should walk up into the base of the statue, and also into the park that surrounds the statue.

Mildly interesting at the confluence of the Moselle and Rhine rivers. Gigantic equestrian statue in a pleasant setting. Not much to see or do. You can watch the cable cars go up to the fortress or watch the river boats go by.

Nice walk around the rivers and head here to the point where they meet! Easy to stroll and close to the cable car.

We couldn't really miss this because we had travelled in the cablecar and were then awaiting a Rhine boat trip which were each near the Deutsches Eck. It's fascinating to watch the big cruise boats reverse and turn around in the confluence of the Rhine...More

Hi Michelle, Around the German Corner there are paved sidewalks . Restaurants are also available on the walkways. Perhaps you could also access the Cable car to go up the fortress. Enjoy your trip!

It is the headland formed where the Moselle river flows in to the Rhine. Check out "Deutsches Eck" in Wikipedia where all is explained.
