Good destination for a MTB trip or a hike from kaiserslautern. It is a good example of a local castle. There is a good restaurant serving traditional German food on bottom of the hill on which the castle is built.
So this castle ruin is right behind an amazing hotel in Kaiserslatuern. It is less than a quartr mile up a steep hill behind the restaurant and passed the church. Well worth it if you are staying in the area. Great view of the ruins...More

There is a street behind the Burgschänke hotel with parking but that's mostly for the hotel. You can also park on the street. If you want to park and walk around there is a big free parking lot on Burgherrenstraße near the bank and the bus stop, across from the Hotel Am Rathaus, a very short walk
