It was pretty thrilling to clim up to the top of the blast furnace and the view was great. At night the whole place was lit with colorful lights that made it feel like Gotham city where the joker hangs out- so yea, it's cool. You can grab a drink and walk around. This advent weekend there was a small... More

My wife and I have visited the Landschaftspark twice. It is a massive site covering an area of about 180 hectares, and displays the area's industrial heritage. It is also work visiting at night, as there is an excellent light installation. The park is built around a disused steelworks whose old industrial facilities have now been put to a wide... More

We had a guided tour which was excellent and very informative regards the history of the plant and also the regeneration of the area. The views front the top of furnace no5 was well worth the climb up the stairs. Would reccommend you take a guided tour. We ate in the visitor centre restaurant menu was limited but the quality... Come to Landschaftspark and get your steps in. Cool place to spend a few hours and learn some history as well as drink a couple beers at elevated heights.

This former steelworks is now a monument to a former industry. You walk through and between huge buildings where once thousands of men toiled and sweated to,produce the steel which was used to build Germany's homes and factories. Many of the buildings have been imaginatively repurposed (the gasometer is now used for sub Aqua diving ). At night there is... More

I've gone to Landschaftspark for different reasons; the first time, it was to sightsee as a newcomer to Deutschland and to Duisburg. The history of the site is fascinating, and of course, on a clear day, the area makes for a rich ground for photography. The second time I spent time in Landschaftspark, it was for an International Food Festival.... More

We only spent part of the evening at the park. Besides the amazing construction with millions of great views highlighted by the coloured lighting, there are also an open-air film theatre, a few terraces and regular events. Many parts of the construction can be climbed, and all is free. By 10 in the evening it got a bit quiet.

I didn't expect much from a municipal park created on a derelict industrial works. My first surprise was the huge car park and how busy it was late afternoon. Most people were visiting one of the many events which take place here The site has primarily a huge blast furnace, some railway, and a few other industrial buildings. Once you get... More

Fantastic location to visit if you are interested in industrial heritage or if you would like to spend a day with the kids away from the city. Free of charge visit of the old iron blast furnace with magnificent view of the Ruhr area. Also a lot of free space in the surroundings for a pick-nick. Restaurant with good meals... More

Although not the prettiest of places as it has been collecting rubbish and graffiti, the Landschaftspark is well worth the visit. There are explanations in English and the views from the top are great. The area at the back is also quite nice to spend some time and walk/explore. There are a number of rock climbing walls that do say... More
