Interesting architechture and various interesting restaurants within the business district along the relaxing channel. Perfect spot for relaxed walk around to wonder the daily life and strange houses within the modern district. Enjoy the gastronomic offers and nightlife in some top level night clubs.

Impressive architecture. There are two building next o each other, one is white and the other is steel. A port just next to it, Dusseldorf tower and a park nearby are the potential backgrounds for your pictures.

This is a set of 3 buildings by architect a Frank Ghery; they are quite the interesting sight and a wonderful display of modern architecture. I really enjoyed the contrast between the 3 structures. They are located alongside the river so they make for an interesting part of a walk

Nice area, short taxi ride from old town, with lots of good restaurants and bars. Nice to wander around.

So having come to Dusseldorf partly to explore architecture as well as art, I was really looking forward to seeing the renovated docks area... Hmmm.... Maybe as it was a bit of a grey evening it wasn't at its best, but it was decidedly underwhelming. I personally find Gehry's buildings boring and these ones were! Hurrah... Many of the others... There are different special buildings : the Gehry buildings, Colorium and the Rheinturm. Also the 'Staatskanzlei des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen Landespresse' is a very nice building

The newly gentrified harbour is definitely worth a visit. The famous Gehry buildings and the Rheinturm are the most famous buildings but the actual harbour itself and the buildings surrounding it are just as interesting when you take a closer look. With the colourful men climbing over the buildings to the interesting restaurant sitting in the middle of the bridge... More

If you are interested in modern architecture this area is a must see with buildings of Frank Gehry and many others. The dockland is just opposite to the Rheine Tower so you will be able visit both places at once.

Impressive area with interesting architecture to stare at, wander around, explore... and then feel glad you're just a tourist and not living there :)
