The old city in Düsseldorf is really beautiful, especially during Christmas. Fantastic decorated colourful and bustling. Dozens of restaurants and pubs invite you to enter them. Architecture is diverse and interesting. It is certainly worth going for a walk there.

I'd choose a weekend when Fortuna Dusseldorf are playing at home, if you like football that is. We went at Christmas time & city was nice & lively & enjoyed the match.
