The concert hall was a very pleasant surprise. It has acoustics about as good as Birmingham Symphony Hall but in a very different architectural style. We heard a large symphonic work and the sound was crystalline and had real punch.

Excellent modern concert hall. Not huge. Everything leads into the center, a concave conical design. Orchestra sits in the center, great acoustics. Audience part of the experience.

The hall that is home to the Kolner Philharmonie is an interesting blend of great acoustics but very odd interior structure that causes choke points both in entering and leaving a concert. We sat in the A section which is accessed from one side of...More
