It was quite strange for me when locals took me and my baby for a stroll through this cementary. I was afraid I would be disrespecting but it was quite the opposite. People walk though the cementery all day with kids and strollers, even runners. It is such a well kept place and its a beautiful and peaceful walk. It... More

It may sound a little morbid to have a stroll in a Cemetery, but this one is really worth a visit. Many important personalities of the city are buried here and there are even organized tours, but even just walking around what looks more like a park than a cemetery gives a sense of peace.

Big cemetry. I saw just one part of it and it was too beautiful. I will go there again and check other places there.

This huge and beautifully maintained cemetary is still in use and so please be respectful. Aesthetically stunning in terms of design and architecture which range from the 19th century onwards. There is also a large memorial to the Franco-Prussian War.

This is the place, where the famous Colognes find the place to R.I.P. . Willi Millowicz, Trude Herr, Jupp Schmitz(i Think), Dirk Bach are here and look from heaven down to melaten ! And one guy told me: the daily feeling here, every day, is better than the feeling on a carnival-party in düsseldorf.(smile). have a look at it...

Certainly worth having a wander around if you're passing, this a peaceful escape from the very busy Aachener Str that runs in to the city. I walked in to Cologne one early Spring morning from the Ameron Regent hotel just the other side of the cemetery as the weather was nice and I was in no rush. I'm glad I... More

My friend and I walked to this cemetery and were not impressed at all really. What I was expecting was an old-world cemetery with unique tombstones, but the layout was pretty modern with new tombstones and a few simple older ones every now and then. I would not recommend visiting this place.

Cemetaries can look like strange places to visit or take a walk, but this cemetary is really worth visting. It's a great escape from the busy streets of Koln. I got the luck to get a guided tour from the friedhofmanager P. Lejeune and he made this visit very varied with lots of stories, symbolics and hidden corners,... Besides a... More

It's a nice place to walk there if you are looking for a quiet place. I loved the old severe, the trees. The graves, monuments, sculptures and statues are quite spectacular.
