A wonderful Hans Hoffman exhibition which changes every three months . Three floors of excellent space to allow the viewing of whatever is on offer including a film space and excellent cafe/restaurant with a small but good menu choice. Helpful staff, lockers for coats and a building designed by Philip Johnson.

Unfortunately, on the day we visited the permanent collection was stashed away for a special exhibition which did not engage us. However, this is a great gallery space and one of the iconic buildings in Bielefeld. The building also contains a cinema where art movies are shown. A great asset to the city, I would recommend a visit and I... More

I extended my visit to Bielefeld to take in the Kunsthalle as it is closed Mondays, and it received the highest praise on the Tourist Information website. For an €8 entry fee, no information about the display was available in English, or any language other than German. No audio guides either. A staff member tried to explain what it was... More

Kunsthalle interesting but the fact that museums and fine arts open on certain days and certain times does not make it easy. Moreover it is not easy to find somebody speaking good English! Therefore when you ask questions, you tend to get a different reply!

Went there with a local friend. Told me she saw great expositions here Unfortunately this one wasn´t that good. I saw a lot better expositions about the same topic in Germany in Mannheim and Köln. Basically i think it is all depending on which exposition you get to see Tip: entrance 8 EURO

From the outside we suspected a large museum, but the size of the exposed collection was disappointing. There were only paintings to see and, from our perspective, no modern works. With difficulty we spent an hour there. The terrace in front of the museum which overlooks the sculpture garden is quite nice though and you can go there without entering... More

The Kunsthalle lies at the end of the pedestrian area in a nice little park with some statues in and is just a 10 minute walk from the Sparrenburg, It is a modern 3 storey building, not too large but with high ceilings and good lighting appropriate for displaying art. The layout is a bit funny; there is no obvious... More

I went to see the exhibition on German Symbolism there and thought it was very well curated. The museum is small, but well set up -- an excellent place to spend a couple of hours!
