This town wall is quite interesting. It has a small market and a great museum that captures the local history.

Neubrandenburg was comprehensively trashed by the advancing Russian forces in 1945, but miraculously the medieval city walls and several gates have survived both that experience and the Communist era. The walls and the immediately adjacent area are a delight (the rest of the city most...More

We were able to do a full circuit, even though it was really cold weather. The gates and houses were interesting, and the different types of housing inside the walls were also interesting.

This is the only complete medieval town wall i think . The gates built into the wall are fabulous. It takes an hour maybe to walk around the cobblestone path at base of wall. Outside the wall is a lovely circular tree area. Very scenic.
