On this place a church was already built in the 12th century. Archaeological excavations in the '80s of last century confirmed the history of this place. In the 14th century the original "Marktkirche" was built and in the 16th century the church was taken over by the followers of Martin Luther establishing reformation in the "Marktkirche", expelling the Roman Catholic... Large but simple decorated church. I had the luck that the organ was playing. I sat there and enjoyed the organ for half an hour. Really great.

This is a stunning building that is the focal point of the old city of Hannover. The red-brick church is large and impressive, though it was rebuilt after the WWII, but very much in keeping with the original. There is much to see and admire in the building, not least the unusual position and asymmetrical design of the organ case.

This is a typical large Lutheran church. Impressive without being ornate. The display of different Christmas cribs from around the world in December (2016) was excellent.

We went inside in March - a beautiful building. Local visitors described the interior for us as we don't speak German.

This is one of the must-sees in Hannover. A lovely church with a brickstone interior and a very remarkable organ. You can see it almost everywhere in the old part of town, so it is difficult to miss. The altar features a lovely trytichon - great place!

Walk from Central Station through the market area. The structure is red bricks old and nostalgic. Surrounded by old architectural buildings. This is worth a visit to just absorb how the city would have looked ages ago. Walk around. Click pictures. Go inside n pray. 45mins time well spent it will be.

As someone else posted, this was a very nice surprise to stumble upon while walking through town. Lots of intricate stone work, beautiful clock tower, great statue of Martin Luther, and a functioning church (was nice to see the locals attending on Sunday while walking around before lunch). Worthy of a stop.

I was actually shocked to see the statue of Martin Luther at the side of this church! I realize I am actually at the center of Christian Revolution! This place is old and classics and also creepy some ways... but I really enjoyed it. I went inside the church and saw huge pipe organs! which is quite amazing and this... More
