This is an historic building with a carved marble staircase. Representations of Hannover since its founding including what it looked like after bombing from WWll. Took slanting elevator to very top and the 360 view was awe inspiring.
We visited the town hall around noon. We didn’t get the guided tour, but had a look at the models of the city in the ground floor, and we took the elevators up to the highest tower. Great view! I highly recommend a trip here...More

Staying close to the Rathaus we went in. They have an observation platform. The views are outstanding of the whole of Hannover. In the building there are models of Hannover pre war and after. There is also a model of Hannover today. Note there are...More
The Rathaus is a great building with history. The building itself is magnificent but the models of Hannover before WW2, and after WW2 really show the destruction that occurred. Then there is the present day model which shows how the city has been rebuilt.

Hello , I looked up how to trace my ancestors and there is lots of info on how to trace ancestors etc. Also my husbands father lives in Germany (not Hannover) and he says to get in touch with the Hannover Rathaus (Town Hall) and they may be able to point you in the right direction. Or if you just look online how do I trace my German ancestors, you may find out how. incidently, we were in Maryland in early September staying at Tolchester in the Chestertown area, and actually drove through Centervile twice. Once when we went to Washington DC and again to Queenstown shopping centre, Centerville looks very pretty. So that is very good that we have a connection. Wishing you all the very best in tracing your relations. By the way it's free to go into the Rathaus in Hannover and is well worth a visit, it's easy to get to on the metro. Good luck
