We had the privilege of attending La Bohemia at the Opera house, a few weeks ago. The interior of the building is beyond stunning! The people watching was just as much fun as the opera! People dressed in everything from jeans to formal gowns.

It is a lovely baroque theatre well maintained and allows modern productions of Opera, plays and symphony concerts. The performance of "La Traviata" was professional with contemporary props and costuming. Subtitles are screened above the stage in an unobtrusive way helping one to follow the plot. A very good choice of seating allows for taste and ones budget. A worthwhile... More

I was visited Wiesbaden Theatre and opera house in 2.06.2016. I did n't expect to see so much beauty and luxuriance there.I was pleasantly surprised. This building,in Baroque style, was built by support Germen emperor William I and opened in 1894. I bought ticket only for 14 euro and I have seen ,,Fate of destiny" (j.Verdi).For this price I have received a... More

One of the most rafine theatre in the world. Fantasticly decorated foyer and buffet. The hall itself is small but comfortable and acoustic is very good!

In the "Grosses Haus" you can experience an opera house from the turn of the (19/20th) century when Wiesbaden was one of the Prussian Emperor 's favorite places in Germany. The acoustics are good and particularly in the month of May (Mai Festspiele) some excellent productions come to town.

Although we did not have an opportunity to go inside, the outside proved to be very interesting. The entire building is quite large and the structure is amazing to look at. Look closely at the statues on the front façade and the frieze above the columns, they all have something to do with the arts.

My wife and I have seen several plays. operas and concerts here. This is one of the best-kept secrets in Europe. The Government subsidizes the ticket prices so everyone can afford to go! Imagine: going to see La Traviata for $15?! Bolero, the Barber of Seville, Billy Budd, and more for $15 or less! And the Theatre is SPECTACULAR!!!! This... More

On my second visit to this opera house I was once again enthralled with the decor and the high quality of the performance. We went to see Madam Butterfly and were not dissapointed. The cast were wonderful with some of the most amazing voices. The production itself was sort of amaturish but the orchestra and cast were top level.
