We took a trip on the cable car to the top of the mountain. The views, on a beautiful sunny day, were amazing. There was no shelter in the cable car, so I don't think I'd want to travel on a cold day.

Wonderful views of the Rhine and vineyards from the cable car. Great for taking pictures. There are restaurants at the top. I recommend you walk down to the lower one for traditional food. However the walk back up is 150 steps so be prepared.

Cute little cable car up to the hillside above Rhudesheim. Open sided so you can really enjoy the experience of travelling over the vineyards and looking back over the Rhine.

Basic cable car ride, good view. We could have walked down but enjoyed the ride. Can get breezy at the top.

The easist way to get up to or down from the Neiuderwold above Ruedesheim is to use the gondala ride which travels over the vines and provides great views. Very popular when we visited on a sunny Sunday with long queues in Ruedesheim.

This cable car looks very old and looks basically like a bucket on a stick! It is open at the sides which we thought was great as it didn't get hot and was great for photo's. The "buckets" are small taking two adults comfortably although...More

The seilbahn was open late (until 11pm) on our first day in Germany. Spectacular views of the vineyards, bits of the Rhine and at top a short walk to the Germania sculpture. Kids (12 and 17) loved this activity.

Good, well organized and relatively non crowded chair lift from Rüdesheim to the Niederwalddenkmal. You are lifted above the quaint wine fields. Short walk from there to the mounment. Beautiful views of the rhine all along. Really romantic. One point of caution : the chairs...More

We bought Ring tickets (cable, lift and return by ship) and can recommend everybody to do it. Nothing spectacular but nice and relaxing. Magnificent views on the vineyards, the towns of Bingen, Rüdesheim and Assmannshausen. Very friendly people as well and paid only 15,- p.p.

Chairlifts usually avoid these but this one was charming, not too high just skimming along lifting gently above the vines. Scenery very beautiful with township below and curving river. A lovely experience and I would return. Only two seats, Small but comfy. Staff helpful.

When you get off the seilbahn there was only an imbiss with tables for a beer and maybe a bratwurst (the views were good); if you walk for about 20-25 min toward the seilbahn to Assmannhausen you'll pass the Hotel... More
