Take the cable car up to the Neiderwald Monument then go for a vice walk through the forest, stop for coffee at the hunting lodge then cable chair down to the river over the pretty town , then boat back to Ruedesheim.

Just loved the cable car ride (both ways) the camera was working overtime taking pics of the vineyards, the town below and the Rhine River. Even though it was raining, it was so worth the ride to view the Niederwald Monument.

I'm not sure a trip to Rudesheim is complete without taking the gondola and seeing the monument. The ride up the gondola is a lot of fun, and don't worry if you see a line. It moves quickly. Once you get to the top, there's...More

Whether you take the Gondola or hike up the hill this gets you to a pretty spectacular view of the Rhine River Valley....and the entire time you are only 15 minutes from the town of Rudesheim and its cafes and bars.

We enjoyed this monument and surrounding area as part of a Ring-ticket excursion from Bingen and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The views from up here are absolutely stunning and well worth seeing.

Took the lift to the top. Offers a nice look at the monument, the vineyards sloping back to the town, and the Rhine. Well worth the cost.

Ww visited the monument via the gondola ride and then walked back to Rudesheim through the vineyards. Beautiful. If we had more time we would live to have walked both ways. We had no time to walk to Assmannshausen which was disappointing.

This monument oversees the entrance to the Rhine valley castles and Rudescheim. It is impressive from a distance and more so up close.

So great from the top! It was super hot and there isn't really any shade once you step out from the trees to the monument so be prepared to stand in the sun to take it all in. We weren't prepared for the straight sun...More

You cannot miss this as it dominates the hillside. However make an effort to visit it and the surrounding woods. If you are going from Rudesheim then take the gondola up to it. Take time to walk the paths near it and see great views...More

The gondolien is indeed for two Persons but it is comfortable. We visited the place outside the peak tourist season and did not need to queuing for the ticket office. July might be different. Better to reserve time for that... More
