Cool dinosaur exhibition and a lot of taxidermied animals. We went on a day that entry was free and they had lots of kids activities. Our kids enjoyed it but didn't rave.

I enjoyed walking around but if you're an English speaker you will find the amount of bilingual signage limited. 75 percent of the items only had German descriptions. The collection of birds and animals on the second floor was great, even if some of the animals looked a bit tired. It was very very busy with school groups when I... More

Big museum with huge collection of birds. You can spend not less than 3 hours there. Every single person could find something interesting for his mind and soul. Cheap coffee automat (0.50 EUR) as bonuses. Minuses: difficult to find parking place near the museum, quite big queue for tickets, 95% of information in museum is in German.

Loved the dinosaurs. The rest of the collection were in many glass display cabinets. No dioramas. I think this would be fun with children. There was an interesting spider exhibit when we were there.

The Senckenberg museum is one of the places to visit if you are in Frankfurt and it offers a wide variety of animals (birds, mammals, fish, etc) and also a nice collection of dinosaurs and fossiles. It also shows the evolution of mankind and the different habitats of animals in different continents. They also have excellent models of some animals... More

I have visited many museums throughout the world so decided to visit this specific natural history museum when in Frankfurt. It was easily located to from my hotel. The building it is housed in is beautiful from the outside. The museum layout is what was so disappointing though. It reminded me of museums back in the 1960s. It seemed as... More

The world known Senckenberg Society (many famous Germans like Goethe were members , me too <gr>) has a permanent exhibition in Frankfurt. It's about paleontology and evolution. You'll find complete skeletons of famous dinosaurs (triceratops, allosaurus etc) in the big main hall. Besides that there are also exhibitions of recent animals (complete whale skeleton etc.). Also all the discoveries in... More

The museum is wonderful for families with children. The day I was there was busy. Ticket was not expensive but everything in the museum was in German. Not one single word in English. I was unable to read the description on any of the fossils or in any other thing I was looking at. The staff speaks English and I... More

It's a natural history museum but we went for the dinosaurs and were not disappointed. There were plenty of prehistoric creatures to see as well as other fossils throughout history. Just when we thought we'd seen everything, there were more floors with even more items. The spider exhibit was another euro and well worth it. Very interesting!
