The museum is definitely worth visiting and spending a couple of hours exploring. Although it was slightly hard to find, once we did, the building was beautiful and there was plenty to view. Although not as good as London's Natural History Museum, it was still very interesting and worth the price for a ticket.

Great museum, worth spending 2-3 hours. It has many interesting specimens of our nature history, like Lucy, dinosaurs, animal kingdom etc. You won`t regret a minute in a museum. Just opposite, some specimens will truly encourage you to explore nature. You will see animal specimens you haven`t seen anywhere. Recommended!

The Senckenburg is a nice museum and a worthwhile way to spend a couple of hours in Frankfurt. The building is old and lovely while sporting many quite modern specimens and display techniques. For English speakers, it's a mixed bag. Random exhibits have English signage and there appears to be little rhyme or reason as to which do and which... More

We visited with our two teenage sons and were unsure what to expect as we didn't speak German. What a very pleasant surprise. Excellent exhibits and informative. I'd put this as #3 on my personal natural history museums after the Smithsonian and The Science and Industry Museum in Chicago. We were very glad that we made the time for a... More

This was a total surprise for me. I expected to see a few dinosaur bones, but ended up seeing specimens of what seemed like every kind of animal in the world!! The birds were just spectacular. I could have spent three days looking at everything. As it was, we were there for about four hours. After awhile, your brain goes... More

This Museum is an excellent way to spend anywhere from half a day to a full day - and the price is exceptionally reasonable. My family spent an entire rainy day here and there was something for everyone. There are great dinosaur displays, rocks, fossils and everything in between for adults and kids. The location is very subway accessible and... More

I was a bit disappointed in this museum. It is run by the university and when I was there crawling with at least three groups of children (grade school, high school and college). The museum is very small and focused mainly on animals with a few other things thrown in (there was a interesting human reproduction exhibit). As I come... More

The Senckenberg is an institution you don't want to miss. Be it large dinosaur skeletons or (real!) mummies including the evidence that Egyptians already were able to perform head surgery, or the endless collection of stuffed animals from all earth's times and countless insects, your day will be filled and your kids will love it. My two boys are coming... More
