I was a bit disappointed in this museum. It is run by the university and when I was there crawling with at least three groups of children (grade school, high school and college). The museum is very small and focused mainly on animals with a few other things thrown in (there was a interesting human reproduction exhibit). As I come... More

The Senckenberg is an institution you don't want to miss. Be it large dinosaur skeletons or (real!) mummies including the evidence that Egyptians already were able to perform head surgery, or the endless collection of stuffed animals from all earth's times and countless insects, your day will be filled and your kids will love it. My two boys are coming... More

We visited with our dinosaur mad 4 year old daughter as part of our kid friendly tour of frankfurt. She had a fabulous time! The prehistoric exhibition had some fabulous exhibits. If you're into taxidermy this is the place for you. They've stuffed every flying animal in existence. Their collection of things (such as foetuses) in jars is also quite... More

The Senckenberg Natural History Museum in Frankfurt is worth a visit for everyone and kids love it! Great place to go on the weekend with the family! Learn about ancient natural history without the feeling of being in a "typical" museum :)

There are several parts to the main collections, including rocks, fossils, stuffed birds & animals, as well as 2 temporary exhibitions, one on dinosaurs and one on live spiders. Although the museum itself is pretty rich in specimens, it lacks a bit around the facilities of a UNESCO world-heritage site, as it brags itself to be. First, only parts of... More

Enjoyed this particular museum in Frankfurt, lots of interesting exhibits on the local area and its wildlife and water ways. Museum shop is small but has good items, the cafe is also a lovely place to visit. It costs 7 euros for a ticket, money well spent

Having been in all the biggest Natural Science Museums in Germany, I can say that this one have really what it needs to be in the top 5. Big collections, nice presentations, spacious: even though crowded you can still find space to look at your own points of interests. A must see in Frankfurt! (Very good for childrens, but not... Located a little bit out of the way, in the vicinity of the Frankfurt Messe, this is a great museum. It features countless exhibits with the regular stuffed animals section, insects and a huge hall dedicated to marine mammals and dinosaurs. While we visited, there was a temporary exhibition of live spiders (and scorpions), which was absolutely stunning. A combined... More
