Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife found out about this place as she was looking for things to do in Frankfurt one weekend. Unfortunately, the weekend we spent there, there was no play going on. However, she told me that I needed to check this place out while she was back in the states for a couple of months. The Wasp was playing for a short time at the Volksbühne. I contacted Andrea Leonhardt as she was listed on the website asking for a little more information. She responded quickly and provided some sound guidance on the area about hotels near the theater. The only thing left for me to do was pick a date. I did and loved every minute of the two female act play. My wife and I will definitely be back wherever they perform as their theater gets renovated. Thank you, Andrea!!!

I had the pleasure of seeing a play in Frankfurt. The cast displayed great chemistry which kept me engaged to the very end. If you're looking for an English- speaking theater, go no further. Your seat awaits...

Saw "Breaking the Code" and it was one of the best performances I've ever seen. Nice little bar above the theater. I purchased my ticket online before I left on my trip which was very convenient. Highly recommend.

Small theatre, every spot is good to watch the play. I have watched around 6 plays there and I enjoyed every single one of them. Parties are organised in the bar over the weekend.

A compact theatre gets you close to the stage We saw Ghost and it was a fine performance which saw some players surpass the quality of the big screen version. Very talented. The bar, snacks and general ambiance provided for a memorable evening.

The English Theatre needs no comment than this: it's always fully booked, so if you really want to be sure you don't miss an amazing show, be sure you book 3-4 months in advance! Tip: Season ticket might help you save some money if you are really passionate about theatre and you do want to see all the plays performed in a perfect English language. First 4-5 rows are pricey, but, hey, the advantage they offer is priceless. Enjoy!

Went here with my girlfriend, and was completely blown away. We attended "The Crucible" - Whoa! The acting was superb! The James-Bar took intermission orders before the show, and we had a nice table set and food waiting for us.
After 8 years of living near Frankfurt, this is the first time we went out to the theater - and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I would highly recommend this to anybody looking for a nice, entertaining, and cultured experience in Frankfurt.

I recently visited this theatre with my wife and some friends to see a production with which we were all already familiar. We left at the interval though, as the language being used was obscene and uncalled for! When we raised that with the staff, we were told that this is how people in England and America speak. Being English myself, I suggested that this might not be the case for everyone, but they told us that many of their shows include bad language, as most people aren't bothered about it!

My wife and I really enjoyed the performance of "Breaking the Code". This was our first visit to the English Theatre and we had a wonderful time. It's a small venue, which allows for a more intimate experience.
Avoid the line at intermission and preorder your drinks before the show.

Hi there--I was wondering if you recall the approximate run time of the show Cabaret? We're trying to coordinate train times. Thank you!

Hi,
About 2 1/2 hours including an interval.

I am looking for recommendations for a decent hotel within walking distance or a short taxi ride to The English Theatre as I am planning to visit the production of Cabaret in the spring 2019. Thanks.

I see there are only front row seats available for the show I want to see. Front row too close or just fine?

I would think an EU student ID would do the trip in any event, but to be sure, why not ask the theater instead of here?
Their website has a box office address.
