Have to say anytime anyone visited us in Frankfurt am Main, this was one of the many directions I sent people. Great location, interesting exhibits.

We went with a couple of friends with a small kid. The place is pretty nice, lots of things to see. My friends told me they periodically hold events of archery and others. The restaurant inside is pretty interesting. I recommend.

The Saalburg is the final outpost of the Roman Empire in Germany. Seeing the fort and their technology is completely fascinating! If you are interested in history or just looking for somewhere to go, this is the place!

Although I found it interesting, it was difficult to follow and seek more info as there are no English tours nor English writing with the info about the different parts of the place.

I visited this castle in a rainy afternoon but still got fascinated by it. Is an amazing historical site and explains a lot about the Roman military experience.

Once a thriving frontier community on the norther fringe of the Roman Empire, the Saalburg stands recreated on the original fortress foundations. A statue of Caesar Augustus greets you at the gate, surrounded by 1100-year-old ruins of the local community of shops, a temple and...More
