Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I visited the Jenisch House in January, beautifully situated in the snow-covered Jenisch Park. It is beautifully furnished, on the upper floor there is an exhibition of North German Impressionists with motifs from Hamburg that is well worth seeing, and the Jenisch House is often depicted in the beautiful pictures. There is a café downstairs, but it didn't look particularly inviting. Perhaps it is nicer in the summer when you can sit outside.

Original building over 3 floors left untouched, original furniture as well, lovely ceiling architecture. Only downside was all stairs, unsuitable for someone with a wheelchair, or elderly. Photo exhibition was quite dismal. The beauty of the interior gives it 5 stars though, as well as the view of the park and the elbe river.

Jenisch House is one of the nicest historical buildings in Hamburg. It is located in its own park.It had been buildt in the 1830th and is now open for visitors. In the lower two floors the prestigious salons with historical furniture can be seen. The top floor is used as an art museum. When we visited it was holding an impressive art collection of artists of the Hamburg Secession an art movement after first world war.
you can easily reach by ferries: start at Landungsbruecken with ferry 62 and change over to ferry 64 at Finkenwerder. Leave the ferry at stop Teufelsbrueck.

We appreciated this nice countryhouse. It dived us back in the centuries of long ship travels, of cosy life of shipowners.

We discovered this small Hamburg museum in a lovely park not too far outside the city. It's definitely worth a visit. It's in Jenisch park with views of the River Elbe. It's a private country hours built in the 1800's. They offer tours of the house which is furnished like it might have been in the 1830's and 1840's. There is also rotating art exhibits in the space, and there's some nice sculpture and artwork. It's definitely worth an afternoon when you can also visit the park and nearby Ernst Barlach House dedicated the art of Expressionist artist Ernst Barlach.

You can easily combine a visit to the Jenisch House with a walk along the Elbe. A house worth seeing. The cafe didn't look inviting.
