The vibe in this place is just hard to ignore. We went to Miniature Wunderland and had to go through here, it was just beautiful and stunning. Very well kept, wished I had seen this in Summer too.

The small canals, the brick old houses, the rainy atmosphere.. Makes you feel like being transferred in another time :)

We took both a walking tour and a boat tour of the Warehouse District. While the walking tour provided a view from land, it was the boat tour that really showed you how this district was built and operated. Don't miss an opportunity to take...More

It is worth a trip to Hamburg just to see the Speicherstadt. With its special conservation status, it is a major tourist attraction but somehow was not overcrowded and still emanated an ethereal feel. Perhaps it is due to the calmness of the canal waters....More

This area is very hyped on travel sites, but I'm not sure what the big deal is. We walked through it. Lots of old brick buildings with a canal running between them. The buildings don't seem that unique or special. There are tourist attractions in...More

A really fun area to roam, everything well kept, nice brick buildings and bridges, close to city center so no hassle to get there.

One of the more interesting areas in Hamburg. Lots of beautiful brick buildings, connected by bridges and coblestone streets.

When you want to see how it was in the old days, take a boat trip to the old store house, which they call "Speicherstadt". It worked quite easy. On one side you have the river and the channels for the boats bringing goods of...More

Spent an hour just wandering around, the buildings have been brilliantly preserved and are very close to the centre of the town so no big detour needed to get here.

I walked around at night taking photos and felt very safe and met other photographers on the way. In the day time it has restaurants galleries (some free) and you can even do a boat tour through the canals from the port, sorry can’t remember...More

Sorry, I can not remember as I did not hire that, my company did, but there are many and prices and tours are similar. There is a tourism office in the Harbor (next to the Hard Rock) were you can ask for recommendations... More

Camping Buchholz looks to be as close as you can get and that is not in the city centre, but like previous advice said, try to park outside Hamburg and use a hostel.
