The old warehouse area of Hamburg, destroyed by fire and war but restored magnificently, provides a unique and slightly eerie experience. The long lines of almost identical, tall, red-brick buildings rear regally out of the water, a most impressive sight. The canals and numerous bridges...More

Beautiful place all in all, quite fancy actually. The fish market worth visiting! Some a bit cheaper fruits and a lot of fresh fish)

Beautiful walk around the relatively large area of old warehouses. Nice restaurants with sunny terraces in the HafenCity.

but maybe we expected too much. Although we enjoyed a walk around some of this beautifully renovated area with a multitude of bridges, some interesting warehouse architecture and ultra-modern apartment blocks overlooking the traditional boat harbour, we felt vaguely disappointed due to a general lack...More

We saw this area by boat and then explored it on foot. Interesting especially in light of its history and the role it played in Hamburg's development.

This is the old warehouse area of Hamburg that was wiped out in WWII. It's now been restored but doesn't yet have much in the way of restaurants and shops. If you plan to visit the Miniatur Wunderland, you can arrive a bit early and...More

We explored this area and crisscrossed the many bridges, viewing all the red buildings which were warehouses on the canals. It was amazing.

A nice historic district in a wonderful city. Our walking tour took us through the small streets of the old buildings, just imagining how it must have been years ago. A nice place to understand the background of this city.

I wasn't able to get a boat tour of the warehouse district but you can walk much of it yourself. Lovely buildings - many converted to offices, flats, small businesses. Definitely worth a look.

Sorry, I can not remember as I did not hire that, my company did, but there are many and prices and tours are similar. There is a tourism office in the Harbor (next to the Hard Rock) were you can ask for recommendations... More

Camping Buchholz looks to be as close as you can get and that is not in the city centre, but like previous advice said, try to park outside Hamburg and use a hostel.
