Go ahead and get lost in the Hamburg History Museum and come out understanding what made Hamburg grow as a port city. Lots of 3D city maps and ship models. Not for families with children who like to push buttons to make things happen. That...More

I was looking forward to this museum to learn more about Hamburg. It costs around €9 to enter. I saw alot of reviews mentioning there were German and English translations but when I arrived there barely any English translations, it looked they have been ripped...More

I was looking forward to this museum, but found it a bit disappointing. One main reason was that it was difficult to navigate. Instead of working through the exhibits chronologically, I ended up working backwards or out of order. There were certainly engaging areas. The...More

Very interesting museum, especially if you are interested in maritime history. Hamburg is one of the largest port cities in Europe, so this museum covers much of that topic.

This is a history museum of the classical type, where the building itself might be called a museum item. The exhibits range from the dawn of history to the near past, are well designed and kept in order, and contain a lot of fascinating and...More

I spent 2 hours here walking around 4 levels of history of Hamburg. Plenty to see for everyone, and the model railway on the top floor was excellent. Really well done displays, walking into the ship, and shops of yesteryear. It's about a 5 min...More
