If you are in the Reeperbahn area you could check this monument out, but do not make a special trip just to visit this site. You have to step over homeless people sleeping on the steps to take a photo of the graffiti covered monument....More

This memorial is walking distance from Landungsbrucken (up hill). The area leaves a lot to be desired with broken glass, weeds and worst of all graffiti all around the bottom half of this monument. I get the feeling it would be all over it if...More

This huge monument is in a small park in the vincinity of Landungsbrücken. Unfortunately it is full with graffities and even this is a big memorial it doesn't attract anyone.

The overall size of this statue is impressive. To see it all in relief is difficult due to the surrounding trees. It is a shame that so many have vandalized the flat areas with spray paint.

I found this large imposing statue in the Alter Elbpark. It is one of the largest memorial I have seen in Germany. It has a lot of graffiti around it base walls. The park is very close to the Landungsbrucken s-bahn and u-bahn station.

An impressively large tribute to one of the Nations heroes. Sadly neglected however and badly defaced with graffiti. Set in a small park inhabited by rough sleepers. Keep away at night!

An impressive monument to Bismark. It's imposing and worth a visit. Considering who it's honouring you'd think the authorities would take more care of it. The base is covered in graffiti and broken bottles everywhere. Can't understand why there is no pride over it.

This Bismarck Monument is huge to the degree that it really stands out in Hamburg and stands out in a bit of an odd way...as in it doesn't quite fit. It is impressive though purely for its size. It looks a little soviet in style...More

We noticed the statue of Otto von Bismarck, the Iron Chancellor, lit up at night when we were walking back to our hotel nearby, so we paid a visit the following morning. The statue is located in the Alter Elbpark in the St Pauli district...More

No visit to Hamburg would be complete without a visit to the memorial to Otto von Bismarck. Otto von Bismarck was the German chancellor in Imperial Germany from 1871 to 1890. His brand of politics earned him the nickname "The Iron Chancellor". The memorial is...More
