This is a cathedral style church which most impressive feature is its organ. The rest, honestly don't bother, churches in Northern Germany have been destroyed in the second world war and rebuilt with minimum decor, nicer from the outside than from the inside. A far...More

St. Michael’s church. 12pm there is a service that is 20 minutes in which the 3 organs joined by one keyboard are played. The church is nothing less than ornate. It is obvious this church is beloved by its’ patrons and city, given the condition...More

For €10 we were able to look around the museum and go up to the top of the spire. The museum, which is under the church, offerers an interesting look at WW2 with some really interesting information to be read. If you’re afraid of heights, I’d...More

Absolutely beautiful church, well worth a visit. Unless you are afraid of heights, it is well worth a few Euros to climb the tower (there is also a lift), to enjoy a magnificent view over the city. We also went down into the crypt. There...More

The Church of St. Michael was a nice place to visit. The inside was beautiful and entry was free to the main church. We did not climb the tower as we already climbed another church that day.

The church honestly has some amazing views from the top. Be prepared to walk up A LOT of stairs to see from the top. I think there’s around 50. However I think they have a lift.

A wonderful church, and one of the best maintained that I have seen in Europe. Definitely worth the walk up. Personally I’d walk from St Michael’s to St Nikolai then on to the Rathaus and the warehouse district. It’s an easy way to spend the...More

The Michel is a beautiful old and historic church. When we visited there was a Christmas market in the basement - pretty, but very crowded as well. The church itself is a beautiful place to just sit, reflect, and admire. Outside in front of the...More
