If you are a real fan of Brahms you will adore this little museum that is dedicated to his life. If you are not, you may be disappointed, since it is a step or two behind the new generation of museums. It is ran by...More

Some interesting artefacts about all aspects of Brahms's life, with access to a library that I wish I'd had time to explore. Could have done with more interactive exhibits as in the neighbouring museum, with music to listen to etc.

Only really for music lovers rather than history lovers. At 9 Euros per adult it was over priced too, especially compared to the nearby Museum of Hamburg History for only 50 cents more which you could easily spend many hours in and incidentally had many...More

I love Brahms, and know a bit about him and his work from before. Visiting this museum did not increase my knowledge or insights more than marginally. The displays were quite old fashioned and not very user friendly. Of some interest to see the piano...More

If you are classical music lover, than it is a nice visit. If you specifically like Brahms, than this is a must. You can learn about his early life, you can even play on instruments once Brahms was playing.

You buy your ticket and then ring the doorbell of the Brahms museum; personally this museum was much more appealing than the other elements such as Bach area. Lovely staff give you a little talk downstairs and upstairs and let you brouse around. You can...More

The Telemann, Bach, and Brahms museum are small museums, but very well organised and with lots of interactive features, i.e. music to listen to. Above all, the staff is lovely, very knowledgeable and keen on spreading information on the composers. In addition, a ad hoc...More

This museum concentrates on Brahms early life in Hamburg. It is small and all in German although the staff gave us explanations in good English. It is near the Komponisten-Quartier Museum where you buy the tickets. This one covers Telemann and CPE Bach and will...More

Lovely little place in a charming neighborhood. The tour guides are warm & knowledgeable. The place is tiny. But filled with great photos and librettos.
