A small zoo located close to the River Weser in Bremerhaven. It is a nice place to spend a day with family including children. Hosts maritime animals as well as other species such as Puma, Penguins, Tortoise, Otter and Ducks. Their main attractions are the...More

The zoo is very small particularly for the animals themselves. For example the 3 pumas we saw are enclosed in a really tiny place. Chimpanzees didn't look very happy either and the polar bears were struggling a bit with the heat. The nice things though...More

It was decent zoo. Not the best but, certainly not the worst. Since Bremerhaven is on the North Sea. They have mostly cold-weather animal. If you love seal and penguins this is your place. The most disappointing area was the zoo's aquarium. It is small...More

Thoroughly enjoyed this zoo where we could see the animals you don’t normally get to see at zoos all over the world. Though I am not a perpetrator of zoos I feel the kids enjoyed every minute spent at the zoo. The polar bear is...More

Nice combination zoo with aquarium. A lot of aquatic animals that can also be observed underwater. A good place to see what lives in the North Sea.

A little bit disappointed as it’s quite small here.you can walk around in about an hour.More suited for children as there is a large playground on location.Entrance fee is 9€ which isn’t that high.

The zoo is not too big and you need about 1,5 to 2 hours to visit it when you take your time to watch the animals. These are sometimes hard to spot, like the racoon that likes to hide. My favourite are the sea lions....More

It's not mindblowing or big, but it's a nice walk and was very entertained. Considering there's not much to do in Bremerhaven, this is a good way to spend a couple of hours at port. I think it's well preserved and has very friendly attention...More

Well organized, wonderfully themed zoo. Fun for adults and kids - even the ones that hate long walks. The parking lot is not large enough to fit all the visitors, but we managed to par on a lot across the canal, next to a shopping...More

Zoo am Meer is located on the bank of river Weser and contains mostly northern animals. The zoo is relatively small(took about 1.5 hour to visit) but extremely cute, with concrete(look stone like stone) premises instead of cages. Animals look healthy and well-carried. A lot...More

It's a small zoo, so I'd say about two hours, tops, and you'll see everything at a leisurely pace. There's a nice restaurant in the zoo where you can warm up, especially at this chilly time of year. Enjoy!
