Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Bremen City Hall is a work of art but what made it even more special was the very nice English Tour Guide! We saw all the rooms and the Guide told us a lot of funny anecdotes. Very nice and well organized!

Great experience, amazingly preserved building and great art with history to it. Tour guide was quite nice and understanding that it is not the most interesting for people under 18. Allows a insight on Bremens history and the country to a bit. A great visit for those over 18, and if you have a child under 18 please remember this is most likely going to be boring for them and that's fine. Also hope for it to be a place to visit in the future I will be back.

I did a whistle stop tour of Bremen and spent some time admiring this beautiful town hall. Characteristically built of red and black glazed bricks, the facade is highly ornate - rich in mouldings, life size figures and bad reliefs of renaissance style. Across the road stands the sizeable statue of the legendary hero, Roland that embodies the spirit of the state.

I had just 2 hours free to spend near the center of Bremen and the Town Hall was the ideal place.
I was lucky that specific time was a tour available in English language thus I participate.
Building is very impressive and recommended to visit it if you are in Bremen. The day visited they were preparing the place for a dinner and was really very nice decorated tables in the center of the Hall.
Tour is around 1 hour and you will learn the history of Bremen.
Not expecting to see such beautiful and interesting place, nice surprise.

This magnificent building is a must see in Bremen. It was built in the 15th century and seems to have escaped the WWII air raids. It stands in the main square, right next to St Peter’s Cathedral. You can spend a lifetime just looking at the décor of its façade, but do visit the inside as well because some parts of it are perhaps as impressive as the outside.
You can only get inside with a tour, which is conducted by a German tour guide both in German and in English. On most days, there are tours schedules for 11, 12, 3 a.m. and 4 a.m., but it is better to find out the times in advance, because some days there are no tours at all. Tickets are only sold at the tourist information office just a couple of steps away from the Town Hall, and cost 5 euros per person. Since most people in a group (only as many as 25 people are admitted at a time) are usually German speaking, the English explanations are given “in-between”. But even if you cannot understand a word of the tour, the interior is really worth seeing.
I think the Upper Hall is the most impressive room, with sailing boats hanging down from the ceiling. From the Upper Hall, you can glance into the famous Gilded Chamber, regarded as the most beautiful room of the Town Hall.
The tour lasts about 45 minutes, in which your tour guide will take you around a few halls that are open to visitors. Don’t forget to bring your camera – flash photography is allowed inside.

We wandered around Bremen square and loved looking at the old original buildings. The experience was improved by the late evening sun.

Marktplatz has plenty to see: Rathaus, Cathedral of St. Peter, restaurants, Staue of the Knight Roland, Schutting (old trade centre), Sculpture of the Town Musician of Bremen of Brothers Grimm. South of Markt is Bottcherstrasse which is one of Bremen's most famous street. It is fulled with beautiful redbrik houses, galleries, shops, cafe. Another street to visit is Schnoor which is Bremen's oldest quarter.

Bremen town hall is still as impressive as it was a year ago - it’s hardly surprising considering how long it’s been there.

Amazing history of the building and the city. An very routined guide showed us around in the rathous in a group of around 15 tourists. The building is filled with history with paintings, furnitures, walls and cielings. It has been renewed several times which leaved a little mixed impression. Tickets are bought in the tourist office at opposite site of square. Tickets cost 3 E per person.
