Because this church has clean lines and painted white inside, I was I was captivated by the clean lines and white paint that opened up the interior to peace and prayers without overwhelming the visitor with too many decorations. To me the carved alabaster pulpit was the most extravagant piece in the church. Just inside the front door is an... More

The church is just few meters away from the famous Television Tower of Berlin. The design from outside is nice with the clean white, green, and light brown colors. The church was built in the 13th century in Central Berlin. The Church was designed and constructed in Architectural Gothic style. It's very close also to Alexander Plaza where you can... More

It's a cute church, inside and outside. I found it so light on the inside, everything is white. Peaceful sensation.

Gothic church with some 18th century interior. Nothing spectacular but it was on our way from Alexanderplatz to Berlin Cathedral so we peeked in.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
