Everything I had read about these tours turned out to be true. Our impressive and witty Irish guide Phil started from a base assumption that his customers were intelligent and informed, and therefore treated us as people who wanted to learn and become even more informed. He was therefore, just my kind of tour guide. Had we more time in... More

we took the insider tour for the Saxonhouses concentration camp. We got a discount with the Welcome card ...WE liked having someone go with us and that we were able to take the bus from the train station rather than walk like some of the tours. Our guide Dennis was wonderful and very knowledgeable and patient ...loved the way the... More

My husband and I along with our two friends booked this tour and can honestly say we were totally impressed with our guide Phil and his depth of knowledge along with his good humour. This four hour tour took us around Berlin (with a short break for lunch) and gave us a great insight into the history of this city.... More

Our superb guide Maria led us through a four hours excursion through walking and public transport through the changed landscape of the Berlin Wall and the death strip that separated families, friends citizens and empires throughout the Cold War. Maria is a gifted storyteller and brought to life anecdotes and details both tragic, heroic and altogether human.

Trip to Sachsenhausen concentration camp located 40 or so miles from Berlin. Tour guide was Irish lad Phil, whose encyclopaedic knowledge of German history helped to firmly place this chilling camp in perspective. the tour was 6 or 7 hours and we were given ample time to absorb the various parts of the camp, as well as to ask any... My wife & I did the Berlin Walk with Mike & had a very enjoyable experience. Mike is extremely animated & knowledgable, he captivated everyone with his passion for Berlin & the stories of his Mother in law (makes my wife want to meet her). Would recommend this tour for anyone who wants to discover Berlin.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
