Museum Island suffers from an embarrassment of riches, and many visitors may leave the Bode Museum out of their itinerary due to lack of time to see everything that the island has to offer. The Bode has its own appeal, and for me this was...More

For the most part, it just wasn't my sort of thing, I enjoyed seeing some of the items but the audio tour was very dry and didn't make for engaging listening.

Good if not exciting. Not busy. Good collection of baroque material. Coins numerous. Good cafe in pleasant surroundings.

Most of the "highlights items" listed on the Bode Museum guide are worth seeing. Apart from that, it's pretty run-of-the-mill old stuff. Building from outside looks exquisite though.

We ducked into this museum because the line for the Pergamon was formidable, but we had a very pleasant surprise, and it turned out to be one of the museums we liked best in our whole trip. Medieval and Renaissance paintings and sculpture, some world...More

This is mainly a sculpture museum. It covers the period from late Antiquity (continuing on from other museums on Museuminsel) to the end of the 18th century. Of the building itself, it is based around two domes, large at the entrance and smaller at the...More

I felt a bit deterred by some of the lukewarm reviews. But the Bode Museum is an absolutely lovely experience. You can’t see everything in one visit, so I loved looking closely at the paintings and sculptures that stood out. Not at all true that...More

Bode Museum is one of the five museums on Museum Island and one of 20+ museums that belong to "State Museums of Berlin" (Staatliche Museen zu Berlin). With a €50 annual ticket (Personalisierte Jahreskarte Classic), I can visit as many times I want in the...More

The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights
like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum
Island. The central location makes this one of the
city's most expensive places to live. It is here the
oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence
of some significant transformations, as well. The
gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets
between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given

Historical sculpture and painting, the majority of which is Germanic. Focus on Gothic wood carvings, very beautiful. The renaissance and other periods are covered, it is all exceptional examples of the period.
