No bar is that exclusive the staff completely ignore you for 10 minutes, then just look at you when you leave without being served. It wasn't even busy!

As part or a night out for dinner, we had drinks at the Newton before dining. It was perfect for that occasion. Sophisticated, great service, great location near the opera house and philharmonic. Comfortable seating and a busy atmosphere, but still quiet enough for easy conversation. Somewhat expensive, but worth it.

The bar is in a great location, right at Gendarmenmarkt with a nice view. The staff is very polite and they speak English. The prices are a bit high, but the cocktails and wines are quite tasty. The only disappointment is that my wine was only 200ml.

This bar is really nice. A little expensive, but the staff were helpful and the drinks good. The only off putting thing is the wall art - a mural of naked ladies across the back wall 😬

Good cocktails, OK retro music, polite and friendly staff. Nice photo art on the walls. So we liked the place and was not choked when we got the bill.

Had a couple of cocktails here each. Cocktails were great, decor nice, but not massive in terms of atmosphere. Waitress was pushy.

Huge variety of drinks, expensive drinks. Bar is full of middle aged people. Mostly business like. Not super friendly...

Great drinks and friendly service! Highly recommend the vodka martinis with a lemon twist. The host was funny and spoke good english. Very near Gendarmenmarkt, a good spot for Happy Hour and it accepts credit cards.

We stopped in here for some cocktails after a busy morning in the snow. Firstly I asked very politely if they made porn star martinis -(my favourite) she just shook her head and pointed to the menu. So I choose something else. The cocktails were delicious and would recommend coming here for drinks - quirky decor on the walls and... More

Nice for a quick visit to sample some of the lovely cocktails they sell here. Decor is interesting and different.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
