Visited this park on a sunny Sunday evening. It is beautiful, with people walking and jogging. It seems very popular to bike through this park. We did not get to explore far, but enjoyed seeing the abandoned tower and walking the trails. True to earlier reviews, signage is sparse, poorly maintained, and generally not very helpful. Overall, this is a... More

I loved this park, it is possibly one of the nicest parks I have visited in Europe. It is a must when in Berlin then visit the tower.

Grunewald Forest is one of Berlin's lesser known attractions. Easily accessible via the S Bahns, this massive green space is a must for nature lovers, dog walkers and anyone who wants a break from the city. As well as monuments to see such as the abandoned NATO site, there are opportunities for cycling and a number of lakes to visit.... More

Most visitors to Berlin will not be aware of the vast forested area of Grunewald in which you can enjoy tranquillity within a few minutes of the city. Get the S-Bahn to Heerstrasse , Wannsee or Grunewald stations for a break from city life. You'll also find huge lakes such as the Havel. Great for Autumn colours and woodland paths.

but it probably helps to like the species since this is one of the few places in Berlin where the beasts can live like dogs. And they do frolic, bark, race and parade but also do their business one and two. Which means (1) you need to look where you are going and (2) it can be a little smelly... More

The forest is like a very big park, has lots of alleys and has a very big lake with nice beaches where dog owners meet and have fun with their pets. The alleys are great for walks and jogging.

Do they not want tourists to visit or what? It is near impossible to find access and your way around this area. I am sure it is beautiful but totally impossible to explore properly as no maps or signage.

It was good to come here to get away from the hustle and bustle of Berlin, but it was not as good as I expected. The forest is full of dogs and their owners, The lake is full of dogs-great if you are a dog lover. If you want to go for a nice peaceful walk, Wannsee may be a... More

There isn't a lot to do around the area - a couple of restaurants and a pub. Perhaps take a picnic and plenty of water and a blanket to sit on as it is very sandy. Went for a couple of hours on a summers day. There were two people in the lake - we didn't get in but it... More
