Within the beautiful Tiergarten, and near the Siegessäule (Victory Column), Brandenburg gate and Reichstag Building, this memorial is well worth a moment to visit. As the burial site of fallen Soviet soldiers, it remains a place of pilgrimage for war veterans from the countries of...More

I would say that a visit to this memorial is even better than going to the Brandenburger Gate. The monument is HUGE and there are beautiful neoclassic murals of WW2 battles inspired in greek antiquity with sentences from Stalin. Definitely a piece of history and...More

The monument is beautiful, and one of the few WW2 monuments close to the city center that is not related to the holocaust. It is free to visit, and great for pictures. Also, it is close to the Victory Spire, so you can visit both...More

This memorial is a short walk along the avenue, directly opposite the back of the Brandenburg gate, and is worth a visit if you have an interest in ll world history. It brings into sharp focus, just how many Russian soldiers were lost in the...More

Indeed, this monument is impressive and pretty close from the Brandebourg gate. It's about one or two minutes walking in the direction of the victory column.

I found this memorial to the Red Army's sacrifice against the Germans to be very compelling. My wife and I saw it as part of Insider Tours' Third Reich tour (recommended). As our guide said, "Hollywood and the West's history books like to focus their...More

Located in Treptower Park, the Soviet War Memorial honors the more than 80,000 Soviet soldiers lost in the Battle of Berlin to defeat the Nazis. Very impressive soviet era memorial flanked by 2 tanks.
