This plaza was famous for large book burnings by the Nazis in the 1930s. Don't forget to look for the peephole in the center looking down into an empty library.

The memorial was easy to find as long as you know it’s there! Look for a crowd of people standing around in the centre. The memorial is an empty library which is so fitting to remember the thousands of books that the Nazi’s burned here.

The memorial here is easy to find anytime. During the day there will be a crowd around it already. But in the daylight it is hard to see what the memorial really is. At night, though, it is lit from inside and the memorial really...More

Other than the lovely buildings surrounding the square, it features the monument for the infamous book burning of Jewish book, done by the Nazis in the early 1930's.

This won`t be a long visit just go and see were the Nazi book burning took place. The monument you look into is a white room with white library shelving all void of any books. Thought provoking that the freedom to gain knowledge through books...More

The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights
like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum
Island. The central location makes this one of the
city's most expensive places to live. It is here the
oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence
of some significant transformations, as well. The
gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets
between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given
