The most interesting part of this is looking at back at it having visited Schönbrunn in Vienna the following day. I preferred Charlottenburg. The audio guide is very good without being sickly or endless. The rooms inside are beautiful and the gardens are perfect for a contemplative stroll.

I visited Charlottenburg twice, once in summer and also in fall. In both seasons I made wonderful pictures and had really nice impressions from the castle and gardens. The interior is really beautiful and the history very interesting too. It´s once of the niciest attractions in Berlin in my opinion. Definetely a "must see" attraction.

Built in the late 1600's by Friederich III as a summer palace for his wife Sophie, Schloss Charlottenburg is the largest palace in Berlin. It was damaged during WWII but has since been lovingly restored. We visited the royal apartments, the old palace's stunning baroque rooms the collection of 18th century French paintings, the collections of Asian porcelain and the... More

Got engaged in the palace grounds! My partner and myself came here on our anniversary, the 22nd Oct 2016. It was for the dinner and concert. Absolutely fantastic night. The food was amazing and the staff were so friendly and helpful with quick service, and the costumes / characters were great. The concert was superb, with one of the violinist's... More

A marvellous palace at Charlottenburg in Berlin. There is an admission fee and a fee for camera use without flashing. The couple of floors of the palace take most of the day, to go through the fine pieces of art in architecture, paintings, sculpture, etc. The halls, rooms and corridors were found glamorous. It is one of the top sightseeings... More

One should visit this place for the parc alone. Being in good maintenance, a wlk in this park is a fine diversion from the loud and not always beautiful Berlin. As package, this compound should be visited, if time is available.

Amazing castle! It was like "time travelling" to history. Huge rooms with beautiful paintings and decorations! Should choose audio to get more information. Recommended.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
