The Bayerisches Viertel is all around the Bayerischer Platz u-bahn station. Full of history, with many famous scholars and activists having lived there. We failed to locate Einstein's one-time apartment, however. Along many of the street are small signs on the lamp posts, each with a statement from a law passed by the Nazi's, restricting freedoms for Jews in Berlin.... More

Bayerishes is the neighbourhood where Albert Einstein and Hannah Arendt once lived. There is an excellent art exhibition at Bayerishes Platz which explores the myriad of anti-semetic laws and regulations of the Nazi period. Signs are dotted around the neighbourhood -- with the regulations on one side and pop-art depictions -- together they help visitors understand how the Nazis used... More
