I spent a week in Berlin learning the nations rich history and used the Hauptbahnhof many times to and fro. I loved its vibrant nature, the friendliness of the staff especially in the Information desk, the many restaurants and supermarkets.

This is a busy and modern train station. There were maps telling you where you are and where the ticket offices are. The staff at the train ticket office was helpful as well. The wait was shorter than at other stations.

Well worth a visit and stay for a while if you are buying your onward tickets. Good shopping, picture opportunities, like the bears found all over Berlin. Just be aware of the drunks sitting on the floor along with the glue sniffers at the "wrong"...More

Well, we visited 7 of Europe's capitals in 2 weeks and it tops any other station we used. Simply stunning. The UK could learn a lot from Europe about trains and integrating transport - and whilst Swiss trains are the best, German stations are better...More

If you come into Berlin by rail, you will likely see this architecture. It is a huge place and very interesting to wander around if you are waiting for a bus or train.

You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most
central neighbourhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof
(central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is
a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of
Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending
their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party
venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful
parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life
