Thank you to previous reviewers for tips on getting here. This was our third visit to Berlin and definitely the highlight of our trip. We booked tickets online the previous day and made our way there by bus (No 248) from Alexanderplatz. We got off at Platz der Luftbruke and as we were early had a welcome coffee in one... More

Stunning - the only word to describe this place. I booked online for the 2 hour English language tour. Tip: arrive early to Platz der Luftbrücke u-Bahn station to give yourself time to explore the outside of this vast building and to find the tour meeting point which is way around the back. While you are waiting at the GAT... More

This place is magical, It has so much history and It s frozen in time. It pulls you in and It s an must-do in Berlin. The tour shows you main points of the building and guides you through different periods of Tempelhof airport development. It is very educational and interesting, time goes by so quickly. It would be fine... More

I had very little time in Berlin but an also an #avgeek and history geek .. this tour was incredible for both. Truly a highlight of my entire stay in Europe and a must-do for anyone visiting Berlin. Our tour guide was super, super passionate and greatly explained all the details about this amazing place. An abandoned commercial airport, a... More

Tempelhof is an old airfield that has been kept as an open space in Berlin. It is a great place to stretch your legs, or take in some of the information that is on boards around the field. Every corner of Berlin has a story, and Tempelhof Field is no exception.

We booked a two hour English speaking tour with THF and it was excellent - largely due to our guide, Celine, being so enthusiastic about her subject. We learned a lot more about the history and importance of the airport than we expected. A must for anyone who wants to enhance understanding of 3rd Reich ambitions and the subsequent divided... We had to book for an English speaking tour around the airport but our guide really loved the place and she made it so interesting that we were glad we had been there . It was a good insight into old Berlin as well , We saw a lot of the buildings and learnt of their uses both past and... More

Hitler's own airport is a sad reminder of WWII but an interesting place to visit for people interested in history. The now defunct buildings are used to house refugees so at least it's been put to good use.

Of course, the US didn't do it alone, but I think it's fair to say we pulled the biggest oar. When you arrive for the tour, go into the General Aviation Building through the two sliding glass doors. The tours form up inside the building, where there is a room just off the waiting area where one checks in. I... More

Which we did before leaving the UK. Celine was our guide and she was excellent. We went all around this enormous building explaining pre-war, WW2 and cold war history as well as commercial air operations. We couldn't go onto the apron or into the hangers for obvious reasons but that's no hardship given the circumstances. Gas bunkers (rather than air... More
