Lars, a student at the Humbolt, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. Comprehensive 2hr tour of the building with lots of information about the history from its conception to the present time. Well worth doing, gives yet another dimension into the troubled recent history of Berlin. The building is so impressive and imposing, excellent value for mone

We were going to a gig nearby so decided that we would do the guided tour, in English of Tempelhof Airport. We were nervous that maybe there wouldn't be enough people given the fact that it was February, but we needn't have worried, as it was quite a full group! The tour was thorough, and gave lots of background and... More

Quite impressive piece of work this building. As a central part of the war history this airfield and its terminal are highly recommended. Old airfield is nowadays a populan picnic area and there is lot of opportunities to fly a kite, rollerskate etc.

We took a 2 hour tour of the airport buildings which was very interesting and extremely well presented by our excellent guide, (A lady with a black leather coat). Absolutely fascinating and like many Nazi era buildings it was way ahead of it's time. Many things we take for granted at airports was built into Tempelhof. The air-raid shelters and... More

This location is easy to access, via the S Bhan rail system. Easy to access by walking to the right along the pavement, in front of the main building, through a gate to the air field area. There were quite a few people walking, running and cycling around the area. Interesting to walk for a time along the disused runway,... More

Designed by the Nazis, crucial for the Berlin Airlift, occupied by the Americans, this city centre airport is filled with history. But architecturally too it is of great interest, being the biggest building in Europe. And our wonderful guide Celine was top notch. She seems to know next to everything, and has a warm and funny way. One of the... More

I had to go there this time as in my last visit i had not been there. i wanted to find a place which is away from the city chaos and where i could find the local people. Its the excellent place for the day out in Berlin. Though it looks like wastage of the infrastructure, this is a lesson... More

Not only do you get to see what Tempelhof was like during its glitzy glory days, but you learn more about it's background, and you're taken down into the bunkers. I even got to take a look at sections that were destroyed by the SS before the allies took control. Great visit. 2015.
