Berlin has so much to offer for a Day tour visit. We caught the Day tour bus for both west and entire city tours. You can use the same day pass if you can extend 5 euros extra for any single tour ticket. They are so friendly, it took 3hrs to complete both trips, you can hop on and hop... More

The tour guide, Rachael, was informative, interesting and thorough. We were shown the highlights of the city and given some advice on what sites to revisit more fully. Very helpful hints when you don't no where to start your ssightseeing visit.

We are a group of six. The prior day we went on the Cold War tour with Barnaby. This was one of the most informative and interesting tours we had been on. Barnaby was witty, informed and had a great pace to the tour. It also helped we had a total of 10 in the group. We enjoyed it so... More

With just a day in Berlin after a visit for work I did not know where to start. Insight Tours "famous sights" walking tour provided the answer, and Kenny an engaging and extremely well-informed tour leader. Highly recommended as an introduction to a fascinating and complex city.

We used Insight Tours twice on recent visit to Berlin and wish we had time for more. JJ was a brilliant and amusing young Irishman who lead us on an excellent 4 hour general walking tour and Alex a hugely knowlegeable New Zealand girl who took us on an unforgetable 4 hour Jewish walking tour. This really is the best... More

From the moment of meeting our guide, Cesar, our tour went smoothly. He was patient and kind while arranging train transportation and very efficient in moving our group along. Cesar was guiding us to the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp which required a sensitive approach to sharing information. Not only did he have a lot of knowledge, he also delivered information in... Jessica was passionate about Berlin and very knowledgeable about facts and figures. Her English was perfect and she had lots of personal facts about the areas we visited. The Tour prices are very good also, and it all runs very smoothly. Would thoroughly recommend. We are off to do another Insight Tour today.

Barnaby was awesome in the famous walking tour around Berlin. It's the best tour we have done in Europe and he gave an informative and enthusiastic tour of the history of Berlin. Would definately recommend.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
