Weird guys at the entrance prohibiting foreign people to get in. Unless you speak German and are a hipster, don't waste your time.

one of the best sound systems and places in the world where to go to dance techno. selection to get into is really hard, but please, accept it. that is making this place safe and amazing at the same time. ps it's a club, a berlin one, not a disco!

a totally different clubbing experience in Berlin. An old building has been converted in a huge club! Party dressing code is required otherwise no reason to wait in the long queue. no photos no videos

The building is old and filthy, exactly what we were looking for to spend our Friday night until dawn. Do not bother going there dressed like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt on the red carpet, it's quite possible that you'll be kicked out before you even reach the entrance. Too crowded with great and quite loud electronic tunes. Be open-minded,... More

The very strange people in t he door, and they will not let you in, only if you are dressing like a 80's punk...

As you can see from many reviews Berghain is notorious for turning away people who don't fit in. Consider for a moment that if they turned you away they may have actually done you a favor. Sure, maybe they should have somebody go down the line and pre-screen people obviously not getting in so they don't waste an hour in... More

Seriously.. they really are not racist, Asian people work there.. as do many other nationalities. If you don't get in it's simply because you don't fit in with their idea of a valid crowd member either because of style, mannerism, physical and mental state.. The venue is not formerly the Ostgut, the Ostgut was a separate venue but it is... More

I always when in Berlin go there! I love it, I never was rejected at the entrance and you can call me lucky if you want, but if had the most amazing time here and always will go back. Music is just perfect, people COOL, excellent craic and I don't speak a word in German.

We have heard about this club some time ago and were looking forward to a good Saturday night partying in Berlin. We arrived early before the opening hours at 11pm and there was already a pretty decent queue of 20+ people waiting outside the club door. It was a cold and windy night, really not ideal for standing in the... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
