The tour led by our guide Christian was really good. The ride was operated very safely and at a very gentle pace. By the end of the, four hour plus tour, we had visited most of the cities key sites and had a good understanding of Berlins 20th century history.

Very nice bicycle tour. We had our kids ( 7 & 9 years) with us and they loved it. Our guide James was a really good history teller. We can recommend this trip. It's not dangerous to go on a bike in Berlin.

My son and I have always enjoyed bike tours around capital cities in the western world. They're generally good, but our bike tour around the Berlin wall with James our guide was brilliant. We were quite a bit late in arriving, but James waited and he was in no hurry to end the bike tour. Really really interesting historical and... More

I took a few tours during my visit in April 2017. They were all fascinating and helped me learn more about Berlin's rich history. But the Alternative Berlin Bike Tour, which I took on Friday April 7th 2017, stands out as the one that best helped me understand contemporary Berlin and how dramatically things have evolved over a few decades.... I took the alternative tour with George and it felt very unorganized. We covered a lot of ground, but despite the fact that we rarely stopped for information and never for bathroom/water we still got back to the starting point at 830 instead if 630. We did go to an interesting bar and George is a nice guide who is... More

Hello Sara, thanks for your review. We really value guest feedback. The Alternative bike tour is a bit more about experiencing the atmosphere of different Berlin neighbourhoods than our historically focused tours Berlins Best and Berlin Wall. Also the route is a bit longer than our other tours, there for we do a bit more cycling. However we will check... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
