Beautiful exterior. However we were only able to see the synagogue from the outside. It has a heavy police presence, which was surprising because we didn’t see a similar police presence outside the Berlin Dom / cathedral. We were unable to go inside. They said...More

It is a nice idea to pass by and take photos from the bluilding beautiful architecture outside. You will only be allowed to go inside if you pay a ticket. We thought it was expensive and decided not to go inside. Friends told me there...More

Thee building is beautiful from outside but is definitely not worth a visit inside: once you pay you realize ther is no true synagoge as it got destroyed during the war. It's just a relatively small exposition place about jews in berlin.

A very beautiful building that stands as a reminder of the resilience of the Jewish people. However it's currently closed for tours which is unfortunate. It said it would reopen sometime this year (2018) however.

While on a guided tour of the city we visited the remarkable Neue Synagoge of Berlin. We were told that this featured in many history textbooks about the era leading up to the Second World War and that at one point was in flames due...More

This synagogue used to be the largest synagogue in Germany, the center of jewoculture and life in Berlin until it was desecrated and burned by the nazis in 1938's krustalnacht , although it was not completely destroyed thanks to the chief of police. During the...More

I made a trip to see Neue Synagoge because I've seen pictures of it and found it very interesting as an architecture work. Unfortunately, my visit was in the nighttime and the whole street (Oraniensburger Strasse) was immersed in dark. The worse thing was that...More

This was once the biggest synagogue in Berlin, with 3500 seats. Beautiful building, with a gold dome in the center of the old Jewish neighborhood. Inside you can get an idea of what it must have looked like before WWII. The permanent exhibit includes Jewish...More

Sorry but for me it was a waste of money. It is not really a functioning synagogue just some exhibitions put up. The outside is stunning and I suggest you take some pics of it. Not really worth coming inside unless you are into the...More

To be honest unless you're hugely interested in the history of this particular synagogue, I wouldn't go in to see the not-very-well curated exhibition, but instead would stay outside and admire the amazingly beautiful dome. The staff here are the most unfriendly people I met...More

The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights
like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum
Island. The central location makes this one of the
city's most expensive places to live. It is here the
oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence
of some significant transformations, as well. The
gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets
between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given
