Step through the doors to the 1930's. Huge reception hall, traditional cloakroom for your coat, a grand staircase, a bar, a bell to call you, wooden seats, an interval (and another trip to the bar)..... all in all a great night out in fabulous, very grand, immaculate surroundings. Oh, and the show's are pretty good too!

Been there for 2 screenings for 2016's Berlinale Film Festival. Loved the atmosphere, the decor, the art deco architecture and that kind of cosy feeling. The theatrical screening room was a blast. It was simply a great experience.

Enjoy the entrance hall with the beautiful decorations. We have been there many times fo r film screening during the Berlinale and it is an amazing atmosphere when the film start. Be aware the leg space is very limited.

Anyone ever heard of the New York Rocketts? Friedrichstadt -Palast have their very own troupe, they have been in existance during the Cold War period and they perform here just like the famous NYR's. Take in the show, ask at your hotel for the programmes as there are different shows available. Reasonable prices...expect to take in at least a two... More

Even if you don't get to see a show, this is quite a beautiful building with its stained glass. We booked to see 'The One' which is quite spectacular if you enjoy the Gautier costumes (which are quite something), and the special effects and acrobatics. Music and storyline is a bit average but, that said, it was a good night... More

Be it the dance, singing, acrobatics, music you name it. We were completely mesmerised. One of the best things we did was going to the Palast show. Just book a ticket and go, I am too small a mortal to write anything here.

If you like music and dancing you must see it. The show was spectacular. Great costumes, music, dance and acrobatics. There were some parts I found boring but they didn't last long and overall it was as amazing as we had expected. The show was pretty much sold out so you need to book earlier and because the seats are... More

The shows vary but they tend to be spectacles of some type. The building is impressive and the shows have a cast of characters in the audience as well.

It´s too much singing, too much fashion show. It seems more like a Jean Paul Gaultier fashion show than a entertainment show. It would be much better to cut more singing and fashion show and have more technical skills performance.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
