I attended a performance of Eugene Onegin in the Komische Oper and overall it was quite nice. There is one issue with the seat staggering though: the seats in the Parkett (stalls) are arranged in a way that it may be sometimes difficult to see...More

Very disappointed. Unacceptable in 2018 to have such poor visability due to the seating rows being too flat one behind the other. Refit the stalls in proper tiers. And how hard can it be to maintain a comfortable temperature - despite it being April we...More

Over the past three weeks, my husband and I have taken in three performances at the Komische Oper. The first, a delightfully updated take on Rossini's "Barber of Seville" was worth crossing the Atlantic to see. Dressed in black jeans, Figaro sported a man bun...More

First time in Komische Oper, and we saw modern dance Nacho Duato and Hofesh Shechter. Absolutely fabulous, even in such an old surroundings.

We are here to see Ballet performance and it was so nice with just enough size of stage. The most outstanding is the architecture and the interior, its from the era of Kaiser Wilhelm and still in good conditions. After the show we just walk...More

A beautiful opera building, in an historic athmosphere you watch such a modern hero, Helena, a type whom you can meet in every day life. Real irony. So funny, so hard to perform both theatrically and musically. Energy and the life streaming out of this...More

Not many cities support 3 full time opera houses - no doubt that the Komische Oper is the premier house at present under the direction of the brilliant Barry Kolsky. We saw a great performance of Peter Pan (from Cardiff!). A lovely late 19c interior,...More

The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights
like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum
Island. The central location makes this one of the
city's most expensive places to live. It is here the
oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence
of some significant transformations, as well. The
gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets
between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given

Their online site is great and very easy to use. Buy the ticket and choose the option to pick up at the box office. Everyone who works there is quite nice and their English is good.
