Great idea to group these buildings together
We stumbled across Museum Island as we walked to our train station for the return to our ship. We had seen it in the map but didn’t know what it was. It’s very impressive housing museums and Berlin Cathedral. Definitely recommend a visit

Berlin Museum Island in one day
I used Staatliche Museen zu Berlin website to buy the tickets. Select Combined Tickets - Museum Island + Panorama regular for 19 euros (this gives you access to all of the Museum Island museums listed below for one day) Timeline to get it done in one day: 10:00 Altes Museum (This one does NOT require a time slot reservation) 11:15 Neues Museum (Requires a time slot reservation) 13:15 Pergamon Museum (Requires a time slot reservation) 15:00 Alte National Galerie (Requires a time slot reservation) 16:15 Pergamon Das Panorama (Requires a time slot reservation) 17:00 Bode Museum (This one does NOT require a time slot reservation) Once you buy the one day ticket go to tickets and reserve times as shown above for the ones requiring time slots reservation. Select: time slot reservation (valid in combination with a museum island ticket) 0 euros. Time reservations are free with your 19 euros one day ticket. Bring water and snack. No time to do lunch. Enjoy

    What an awe-inspiring location
I'd place this visit as top priority to all visitors of Berlin. You could easily devote a full day to absorbing the artwork, artifacts and amazing architecture that makes up the museums on this island. Bring a good pair of walking shoes, lots of energy, some water and perhaps a small lunch. Lots of unexpected surprises and breathtaking exhibits to admire. If you have time to visit more than one museum, there is a ticket available for €19 each to allow admission to multiple museums, please note booking visit times in advance is recommended to avoid disappointment.

great collection, in one place, of good collections
Worth getting a hotel nearby because you can spend several days walking around these museums, and it's nice to start and finish close by. Note: Museums are busy and generally don't open until 10am. Several are closed Monday; the Humboldt Forum is open. Note: Not worth it to get the 3-day pass, because you'll probably need timed entry tickets to the museums, and I (at least) couldn't figure out how to get a timed-entry reservation without having to also buy a ticket. Note: Bode abuts other buildings but you have to leave the island to access it. Note: Pergamon supposed to be closed for the next 8 years, except for the separate gallery abjoining the Neues Museum. Note: for a fun chronological arrangement of subject material, start with the Altes Museum, then the Neues Museum and the Bode-Museum. Note: museums are good to very good individually, having them together makes for excellent experience

A must visit site for Berlin lovers
This Unesco heritage site features a lot of remarkable places, including the famous Berlin cathedral with the famous architect and panoramic view terrace, Altas (old) Museum and Neues (new) museum, Bode museum, and more galleries. This place is a must-visit for anyone even if you are not a museum person, you still can take wonderful photos of the buildings along the river. . I recommend getting the museum pass online in advance which allows you 3 days of free entry to most museums ( Berlin Cathedral is not included)

    Loved the art Market
Definitely do this if you like art and architecture. A stroll through the area is a must. I was only visiting for a few days so didn’t have the time to visit all the museums but loved walking around and taking in the architecture and the surrounding areas. We walked through the arts market which was pretty amazing, sadly only open at the weekend

    Packed museum area
Lots of the main museums all together which masked a good whole day visit. Some local cafes and a street may on some days to give a break. Get the combined day ticket but don’t forget to book individual times for entry into the main museums. The ticket website is a bit confusing.

    Highlight of Berlin visit
Go and experience this wonderful gem in the middle of Berlin! Photos do not do it justice, each building seems to outdo the other in architecture. And so many treasues inside. Take time to think about what you'd mostly be interested in. Take good walking shoes and focus on 2 museums with breaks each day.

Beautiful walk along the the river and island
We visited on a really nice sunny day in March and felt luck because the views are beautiful, especially in the sunshine. There a loads of different museums, the Bode being the most grand, unfortunately, there were a lot having building works so we were limited to where we could visit for the day. Worth a visit though, even just to take in the wonderful buildings and views.

lovely place- even if you don't go to one of the museums
Beautiful area with the beautiful museum buildings. The pergamon museum is closed for several years which is disappointing. We did go to the Neues Museum- I enjoyed the Egyptian displays (including the Nefertiti bust!) but the rest of the museum was an extensive display of moderately interesting artifacts. I think I'd expected more art/statues vs bones and small artifacts. I very much enjoyed walk about the buidlings and watching the river- the Cathedral added beauty to the landscape but we chose not to pay to enter.

Many museums to visit in one place. Loved Pergamon Museum. Need whole day to see all. Very informative exhibits. Maybe more English descriptions.

The five museums are open on different days and hours, make sure that you check. I would not try to see all five museums in one day, try to spread it out over multiple days if possible. As of May/June 2024 the Pergamon was closed for remodeling, but their temporary exhibit was AWESOME. They have a giant mural, one of the best art exhibits that I have seen.

There is a museum for everyone. Scenery is great, good place to picnic, very beautiful cathedral as well. Only complaint would be how many museums are closed/undergoing renovation at any given time

With no less than 5 museums to choose from plus of course The Dome you must choose carefully as which ones you want to visit. Realistically it's impossible to see more than 2 or 3 in a day so you may want to come more than once. Either way you won't be disappointed.

Lots to do and see. The German museum wasn’t worth it. The Egyptian museum was excellent. Much more to see. Definitely worth the visit
