Neighbourhood: Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
How to get there
  • Zoologischer Garten • 2 min walk

There are only temporary exhibitions, but no permanent exhibition. Therefore, there are tops and flops. I really liked the exhibition Image Ecology. The other exhibition taking place at the same time was not so great and I was actually only pure because the ticket was for both. Separate tickets are not possible. The staff are friendly and there are plenty of lockers and decent toilets. There is also a cafe in the house.

This is an excellent gallery with several photo-exhibitions at a time. Very well done and surely a must-see for those interested in photography. I spend time on the "Genesis" exhibition of Salgado and it was surely very interesting and inspiring. There seems to be some confusion with the adress as it is actually located at the Hardenberg Str. very close to the station Zoologischer Garten.

Our specific reason for going to Berlin this time around was for the Robert Frank exhibition in the C/o and it didn't let us down. There was another exhibition on at the same time No Photos on the Dance Floor! which is definitely worth seeing. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and allowed to bring our cameras in to take photos, safe lockers to leave all your belongings and staff are really lovely and a great book shop too. Well always make a pit stop on my return to Berlin

At the time of my visit, they had a 100-year retrospective on Leica. A fantastic exhibition! Very impressed!

Make sure to check the exhibition they are having, because it may be quite shocking haha Wasn't expecting so much nudity, but it certainly leaves a mark in the memory. Oh yeah! They have amazing photobooths were you can create nice memories with friends )

C/O is a special place if you are interested in art and photography.
We had the opportunity to see Araki and "Dal letze Bild" and it was marvelous.
The quality of Artists portrayed here is exceptional.
It was only a bit naive the note of the curator in relation to the japanese photographer in the light of the #metoo global movement.

I simply love the C/O and it’s exhibitions - actually started visiting it on a regular basis. Loved the Irving Penn before as much as the current Polaroid Project/Win Wenders.
They do guides tours as well which I can recommend to first get an overview about the current exhibition and artists.

I visited the C/O Berlin on a weekday. It was not crowded.
A great thing is that there is free entry under 18.
I spent there about 1.5 hours, walked through all the 3 exhibitions. The Wim Wenders - Sofort Bilder was the most interesting.
There are lockers downstairs for your bags and stuff.

A must for photography aficionados - the C/O Gallery is a great space for rotating exhibits. We were lucky enough to see a brilliant Irving Penn show so check ahead to see what they have mounted!
