We went to the performance of Cabaret with full knowledge of Liza Minelli in the 1972 film plus the odd TV replay. Nothing compares to this musical live and predominantly in German. A wonderful, moving and emotional experience!

We went to see the musical Cabaret here and it was out of this world. We had booked dinner and the theatre and we weren't quite sure what to expect but it was a fantastic venue, reminiscent of a 30s cabaret. The standard of performance was outstanding and the fact it was mostly in German simply added to the whole... More

Saw Cabaret here on my first trip to Berlin. The venue is fantastic and, although I don't speak a word of German, I didn't need to to enjoy the spectacle!

We've now visited this theatre five or six times, always to see the annual production of 'Cabaret'. I always say, 'If you're going to see 'Cabaret' where better than in the city that it was set in? It's mostly in German, though! Seating is, unsurprisngly, in cabaret format, with small round tables by the stage and in most of the... More

This was a great night for me and my wife. The show was top notch and the seat prices were flexible. They ranged from approx 60 euro for a table at the stage, to 20 euro for a seat at the back. We paid 20 and could see the stage perfectly. We arrived at 6.30 for an 8pm show and... More

Even though I don't speak German I went because I knew the story and the music. This is a fine production of Cabaret in a cabaret setting. The cast music and staging are very professional. This version is a bit risqué so parental guidance is appropriate

Great venue for a show like Cabaret since you almost get immersed in the feeling that you are in the Kit Kat Club. The seating is at tables where you can also have dinner before the show starts and drinks before and at interval. It was a nice experience to see Cabaret performed in German in Berlin in this venue.

We visited Berlin with the main reason being to see the 12 tenors. Excellent show really enjoyed it all. The venue is very good, small with excellent table service for all seats. It was very hot, we felt sorry for the tenors who must have lost a great deal of weight. Great show great venue, glad we went

Our hotel rep suggested the Sunday show with Gayle Tufts knowing we were non-German speaking Brits and at first I was annoyed when it was obvious most of the show would be about 90% in German. However ... you do get the gist of her comedy and we ended up having a laugh at most of the show. Worth going... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
